👗 Partick fashion business owner Victoria Lee has stepped down as CEO of her fast fashion brand Petra’s Wardrobe, after investigating the working conditions of sweatshop workers. Now Victoria says she’s ‘dedicating her life to promoting second-hand shopping’. - Kirsty Feerick, Glasgow Times.
“A customer then asked who made the clothes which made me do research and I honestly couldn’t believe it when I found out, I felt sick. The workers had been getting paid just pennies and there was child labour investigations. I knew I couldn’t be part of anything like that. 🔊 TRNSMT festival organisers DF Concerts have shared details of two local community drop in sessions: today and on 22 May. - Calton Community Council. Organisers say:
“It’s your chance to ask any questions you might have about the planning of TRNSMT. There will be representatives from DF Concerts, the Event Traffic, Security and Noise Management teams, as well as representatives from Police Scotland and Glasgow City Council will be available to answer questions regarding the planning of the events.”

↪Get in touch using this form.📌 📌 Govanhill Spring Clean planned for 27 April. Local residents, organisations, charities and businesses are coming together for a Govanhill Spring Clean event. The plan is to meet at the Al-Farooq Education and Community Centre on Dixon Ave in Govanhill on the 27 April at 10:30am. They day will begin with a briefing before teams of folk will head out to pick up litter. Volunteers will meet back at the community centre for refreshments at 12:15.
