🚨 A man, 32, has been charged in connection with the death of Maxine Clark, 36. Police Scotland. Tributes have been paid to “sweet mum” Maxine. - Kirsty Feerick, Glasgow Times.

🎖 A huge parade was held on Saturday in honour of Armed Forces Day. 🤑 City of Glasgow College principal Paul Little will have his annual remuneration of about £200K boosted by £5K amid cost cuts and staff strikes. - John Ferguson, Sunday Mail.
↳ A college spokesperson said: “He receives a salary of approximately £166,000, with a modest, below-inflation increase of three per cent proposed. Following a routine review of contracts, a 12-month notice period has since been agreed. Lecturers have been offered a consolidated pay rise of £5000 over three years, backdated to 1 September 2022.”

🚖 Several taxi drivers have hit out at the council after it refused nearly 100 applications for private hire licences because “the city had reached its agreed-upon limit” of 3450. Tying in with the centenary of local landmark the Couper Institute and Library, Cathcart and District Community Council is working with local groups and businesses to run a packed programme of events between 3 - 31 August: with a public lecture on the brothers who funded the Institute as a planned highlight.
