🧦 Homeless Project Scotland (HPS) was served with a closure notice and told by Glasgow City Council that it is “not considered appropriate” for a Conservation Area. - Stewart Paterson, Glasgow Times.
↳ Other reasons for the notice include the lack of planning consent and multiple crime reports.
↳ HPS chair Colin McInnes said: “No administrative or bureaucratic hurdles should stand in the way of providing essential assistance to those most in need.”
🚨 A man fell from a balcony at the Gallery of Modern Art, prompting a large emergency presence and temporary closure of the gallery. - Rebecca Newlands, Glasgow Times.
🏢 Plans to turn the A-listed North British Locomotive Company offices in Springburn into hundreds of student flats have been submitted to the council. - reGlasgow.
↳ Owners originally planned to demolish large parts of the building but withdrew proposals in favour of the student accommodation concept.
🏡 The Scottish Government’s “long-promised” £40 million housing acquisition fund has come through with Glasgow getting £11.5 million to buy empty homes and turn them into social housing/bring long-term “voids” back into use. - James Riding, Inside Housing.

🚓 The sister of an “extremely vulnerable” man who has been missing for two weeks has issued a plea for anyone with information to come forward. Darren Pollock was last seen around 8.20am on August 29 near Pollok and police believe he could be near Pollok Park. - Ryan Carroll, Daily Record.

🎧 Big Noise Govanhill’s free summer holiday club was a huge success, providing nearly 1,000 meals and snacks for children in the area alongside free music lessons and activities. - Sandhya Suresh, Glasgow Times.
🏗 Radisson Red owners have started work on the planned £15 million revamp of The Rotunda near the Hydro. - Declan McConville, Glasgow World.

📌 Merchant City and Trongate Community Council will be sprucing up some of the city centre by holding its next quarterly Litter Pick on September 21. Volunteers should join Community Councillors at 10.30 am outside the Ramshorn Graveyard in Ingram Street. All equipment will be provided. If you can spare a couple of hours between 10.30 and 1.30 you'll be made very welcome. All you need to bring is a smile, enthusiasm and a desire to make the area as pleasant as possible.
