Glasgow Women’s Library is not really a library, it’s not just for Glasgow and it’s not only for women. But after 33 years the label has stuck and the institution, which is based in a former Carnegie library in Bridgeton, reckons it’s as good as any other.
“The name means a lot,” said Gabrielle Macbeth, the volunteer coordinator. “The discussion comes up every few years but we have never found with anything better.”
