If you walk 20 minutes north from the Botanic Gardens, along the bank of the River Kelvin, you’ll come across four brutalist tower blocks. But not for long. After a fierce, years-long battle between residents and Glasgow’s largest housing association, controlled explosives will demolish three of the towers. The remaining one will be disassembled bit by bit, floor by floor. It promises to be an exciting end to the buildings. Residents will be evacuated for the process and an exclusion zone will be put in place.
